In the Driver's Seat

Discrimination at the Masters notwithstanding, the resounding success of Annika Sorenstam has proven once and for all that when it comes to golf, the girls got game.

Sigh. If only they had the accessories to match.

There’s hope yet for style on the greens. The latest? A new line of golf gear designed by Ame & Lulu, whose club covers, slim-fit T-shirts, and barrel and tee bags are a welcome step up from those tired mascot socks. Not too preppy or flashy, the collection is available in toile, cotton twill, and lime plaid. Pretty but not cloying. There’s even a men’s collection, which is decidedly less, you know, girlie. Monogramming is, of course, available on everything. This is golf, after all.

Think of it as further proof that the sport is more than just a matter of tartan pants and little balls.

So to speak.
