Question: Why was bar-hopping invented?
Answer: Because so many bars get so old so fast. (Plus everyone has social ADD.)
Seriously. What happened to that easy sort of place where you could settle in for an evening of drinking and great bar snacks?
The Dime, Hollywood’s newest bar of note, may be your answer. Recently opened in the space formerly known as Max’s, it’s the brainchild of Andy Fiscella and producer Beau Flynn (a.k.a. Marley Shelton’s husband), and it’s got all the elements of a perfect night out: a warm black-on-red decor set off by candlelight; a menu replete with comfort food (grilled three-cheese sandwich, wild-mushroom quesadilla, barbecue-fried-chicken) … everything that makes you savor that cocktail or cold beer just a little longer. Best of all, mixed drinks can be had for less than seven bucks.
Meaning you can finally put that next bar out of your head, take off your coat, and stay awhile.
