Wild Nights in Tangier

No one’s naming names, but someone’s bathroom cabinet is a bit crammed with one too many freebies goodie-bagged from the Motorola/Sony/PlayStation party. Your nightlife is on life support.

The rescue squad has arrived. Jackets Required is the latest party from after-hours impresario Audrey Bernstein. (Remember her? From Cachet and karaoke nights with her old cohort, Apple?)

The new Monday scene is all about getting dressed up for dinner and a show with your gang. You know, having a ball, innocent or otherwise. Unlike other theme nights, this one’s always changing. One week it’ll be a jazz band with Audrey herself performing old standards. (Think Ava Gardner at the Stork Club.) The next it’ll be Johnny Fayva’s Below the Belt variety show. (Strictly old-school Vegas: magicians, comedians, and dancers.) The only constant is celebrity DJ (did we really just write that?) Matthew Frauman, who spins from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.

You can always recover on Tuesday.

Monday nights at Tangier, 2138 Hillhurst Avenue, at Avocado Street (323-666-8666).
