One of summer’s great pleasures: driving with the top down, wind in your hair, sun on your shoulders …
Oh, yeah. And the shocking accumulation of grime in your pores.
Time to hit the slamming new Dermalogica flagship on Montana. No froufrou spa, it’s a place where they take skin seriously. Incredibly seriously. The technique behind each facial is called face mapping, which analyzes fourteen zones of your face and treats each accordingly. An added perk: the touch therapy that comes with each treatment. Selections include Deep Tissue (face and neck), Stress Relief (scalp or back), and Aroma Point (face).
Perhaps most intriguing is the 1,600-square-foot airy space, done up with futuristic touches, like the lighting system, which mixes 40,000 colors throughout the day based on a preset program. And the cozy, serene treatment rooms — tiny, organically curved pods, cloaked in smooth white plaster and lit from below by cove recess lighting.
It’s enough to make you want to leave the top down year round.
Dermalogica, 1022 Montana Avenue, between Tenth and Eleventh Streets (310-260-8682).
