A new restaurant? Sort of like a new book: potentially rewarding, but a lot to take in.

Hence an innovative study aid for mastering the complexities of the text that is L.A. gastronomy: Cliffs Notes on Silver Lake’s newest spot.

WORKING TITLE: Cliff’s (though they’re still flirting with Cliff’s Edge)

    SETTING
    Silver Lake restaurant with an urban-rocker-chic dining area where a Rolling Stones Beggar’s Banquet poster lines one wall; secret lush garden patio with a warm, festive vibe, where “Costa Rica meets India”

    SUMMARY
    Concept hatched five years ago by Keith and Dana; a magical environment with a Cal-Italia menu of medium-size plates (think small dishes for hungrier people): kabocha pumpkin ravioli, rigatoni with boar ragu, prosciutto-and-wild-mushroom crepes, toasted brioche with sauteed fresh figs and honey

    COMMENTARY
    An instant classic; destined for the canon
