Canadian Makin'

Hilary Druxman Jewelry

Canadians aren’t all that different.

Sure, some of them speak French. And they have nationalized health care. And they pronounce “about” kind of funny.

But you won’t be inclined to hold any of that against them when you take a look at the work of jeweler Hilary Druxman. The Winnipeg-raised designer makes earthy accessories that seem to have sprung from a Walden Pond field trip: thin wire necklaces strung with pea pod beads, bracelets twisted like broken tree branches, leaf drop earrings, pendants shaped like pebbles. To top it off, Druxman (who’s also a gemologist) leaves her “HD” mark on every gold and sterling-silver creation, then applies a dusty matte finish to the surface for the perfect touch.

Fortunately, you don’t have to cross borders to bedeck yourself. Hilary has opened an eponymous boutique on Montana, so you can touch, try, and purchase her designs anytime you’re in the mood.

Pretty convenient, eh?
