Back in Black

The Hiltons have left the building. Nicole Ritchie just drove off. Even Tara Reid is on her way home (though with whom, we can’t rightly say). It’s official: In addition to holding the distinction for cheesiest party ever, this shindig is beyond over.

And wouldn’t you know it? The valet guys are having a devil of a time finding your keys among the 75 look-alikes in that box.

One solution: Stop going to lame parties. Another? Get yourself a Black Noir key chain. Designed by artist Anna Sew Hoy, who, as an L.A. native, knows a thing or two about the ups and downs of valet-centric life, the chains are made from knickknacks found while thrifting, cell-phone accessories, and pop-culture items culled from Little Tokyo, K-town, and Chinatown.

No two are the same, though all were inspired by the dream catchers Hoy made as an artist. And they aren’t as syrupy-sweet as your usual Asian trinkets. They’ve got a darker feel to them (hence the self-consciously over-the-top name).

Cute, sophisticated, with just a bit of edge — you and your keys will definitely stand out.

Especially at the parties you go to.
