Yes, it’s almost here. That special time of year when you can actually hear your soul being crushed under the weight of cliche. When relationships start to feel like chocolate-coated prisons and gift giving gets so uncreative it makes “creative executive” seem like less of an oxymoron.

Don’t get your knickers in a twist. Instead send a panty-gram from Panty Raid, the East Side’s favorite lingerie shop. Go online or stop by the boutique on Glendale Boulevard, choose from one of three styles of underwear (think cute, sweet, and sexy — not Victoria’s, Frederick’s, or Trashy), say where it’s going, and on February 14 your special someone will receive a special delivery the old-fashioned way (hand-delivered by some adorable dude wearing a starched shirt, a name tag, and a boat-shaped hat).

Owner Jen Abercrombie and her girls plan to stop taking orders when the clock strikes midnight on February 13. So check them out before you find yourself throwing down for the last bunch of pinkish mums or that box of stale Whitman’s. It won’t make Valentine’s Day go by any faster.

But it will make getting through it a lot more fun.
