It seemed like a good idea at the time: You dashed to the boutiques in search of a little last-minute panache, only to end up asking the salesperson in horror, “An Edwardian-inspired top that I plan to wear with jeans to a barbecue this weekend costs WHAT?!”

Let The Circle set you straight. For years it’s been quietly selling samples and overstock of designer tops, pants, and skirts (with the occasional purse, shoe, or dress) from the back of a publicist’s office. Now they have their own digs just two doors down from the Silver Lake Wine Store and across the street from Gingergrass.

It’s like a perennial sample sale. Some designers remain the same — Mon Petit Oiseau, Alicia Lawhon, and Lockets are still available — but they have newbies, too — like Rachel Pally, Magpie Rita and Harvey’s — all at ridiculously low prices.

You’ll always leave with something pretty.

As well as a perfectly intact relationship with the sales staff.
