Doughnut Shoppe

With hard work come great rewards.

And there was nothing easy about your day. First, you gave serious thought to taking the stairs. Then you contemplated a power walk to the mailbox. And don’t forget that almost yoga-like stretch upon waking from your nap. And the subsequent sprint to the fridge.

Before you sink your teeth into that Twinkie, though, bear in mind that Wednesday nights are Doughnut Shoppe nights at Grace. That’s when pastry chef Elizabeth Belkind ditches the everyday dessert menu and creates a selection of original gourmet doughnuts and homemade ice creams using the freshest ingredients.

Select from wicked confections like the chocolate hazelnut beignet with bananas Foster and burnt caramel ice cream; brown sugar doughnuts with blackberry preserves, warm berry salad, and beurre noisette; and warm chocolate pillows with marshmallow cream, spiced hot chocolate, and fresh Burlat cherries.

But save the original jelly doughnut with strawberry rhubarb jam, vanilla cream, and buttermilk strawberry ice cream for days when you’ve been particularly diligent.

Like, say, when you really wrestle with the possibility of someday joining a gym.
