Sunday I’m in Love

It never fails. Sunday afternoon. 4 p.m. Things take a turn for the worse.

The TV’s glow takes on a sickly cast. The sun descends grimly on its downward trajectory. And the clock’s ticktock seems to taunt “Mon-day, Mon-day, Mon-day.”

There’s only one cure for the Sunday blues: two-dollar beers and heaps of delicious food. Head over to Sunday Supper at Dominick’s and you’ll get plenty of both. Starting this weekend, drop in as early as 6 p.m. for a family-style dinner at easy-to-swallow prices ($15 for dinner, $10 bottles of wine, and $2 brewskis) on the breezy outdoor patio.

Special Sunday options include grilled octopus and white beans, eggplant parmesan, zeppoles, bruschetta with tomatoes and artichokes, and spaghetti with calamari “meatballs.” The ice cream sundae with Nutella hot fudge is sure to make those blues take a hike.

At least until Monday morning.

Dominick’s, 8715 Beverly Boulevard, between San Vicente and Robertson Boulevards (310-652-2335). Sundays, 6 p.m.-closing.
