Weather or Not

It’s the time of year when that little voice inside you pipes up.

“Who’s up for an autumnal drive?” Or “A cup of hot cocoa by the fire sounds dreamy.”

Before it starts wishing for a snow day, you should point out to that little voice that you’re sacrificing the occasional Swiss Miss for 365 days of temperate bliss. (Or, okay, 363.)

And then embrace it. That’s what Hayley Starr does. Her new collection is perfect year-round. Each of her designs incorporates elements that wrap, tie, fold, and can be twisted to create new looks. The skirt, for example, can be worn low on the hips, high on the waist, as a strapless dress, or as a halter. And each piece is made to order.

Start with a visit to Starr’s West Hollywood shop (which also doubles as a gallery showcasing Starr’s paintings and work from other artists) to see all your options. Then choose your style (tank, skirt, wrap, pant). Pick a length (they range from hip to floor) and put together a two-color combo from the eleven offerings (everything is reversible). Pockets can be added on request.

The cotton/modal fabric is ideal for sunny Southern California. Although, with so many ways to wear them, each piece has loads of travel potential, too.

Just in case that little I-just-have-to-wear-my-apres-ski-outfit! voice causes you to flee.
