Don’t Hold Your Breath

Exhale Opens

Los Angeles is used to being first in line.

We kicked off daytime denim and anytime sweats. Not to mention all the glitzy premieres.

Therefore, when we’re not numero uno, it hurts. A lot.

But we’ll have to swallow our pride when Exhale opens its doors today in Santa Monica. Just because they hit Boston, New York, and Chicago before the West Coast doesn’t mean we’ll love their 15,000 square feet of spa any less.

It would be a wee bit foolish to pooh-pooh the twenty Zen-inspired treatment rooms and Healing Waters Sanctuary (complete with soaking tubs and eucalyptus-infused saunas and steam rooms) just because we were fourth on the list. Just for us, they’ve brought their holistic approach to mind and body transformation therapy, innovative microdermafusion facials (gentle resurfacing with organic grains and diamond crystals), body-enlightening massages (a combo of techniques using yoga, acupressure, and tractioning), and their health and wellness coaching skills.

Besides, the ocean views from the second floor studio where yoga and Core Fusion classes are held are certainly only in L.A.

So you can relax now.

For real.

Exhale, 1422 2nd Street, between Santa Monica Boulevard and Broadway, Santa Monica (310-899-6222 or exhalespa.com).
