Fill in the blanks:
Shiraz comes from ______.
If you like pinot grigio you’ll love ______.
Swirl, sniff, sip, swish, ______.
If you answered these correctly (or in any way at all), you know enough about wine to survive your next few run-ins with any roving oenophiles.
So take a break from your wining and swill something different: scotch. Tonight, Lincoln debuts what will become a monthly event — tastings with Master of Scotch Rick Edwards. You’ll learn the history of five selections and sip them along with pairings from chef Jack Melson.
Start with dates, figs, and walnuts with Glen Kinchie from the Lowlands and 15-year-old Dalwhinne from the Highland (the oldest of the group). Seabass and scallops come with Cragganmore, wash oysters down with Oban, and dessert is served with Talisker.
You’ll leave with a full mind and a full belly.
Just try not to leave fully loaded.
