Seeing Bruttle

Bruttles Candy Shoppe

You never leave home without it, demand burgers your way, and expect coffee to be good to the last drop.

Under the advertisers’ spell are you?

Someone may be missing out on jingle-free businesses like the Bruttles Candy Shoppe. The tiny spot is known around Spokane, Washington, for its magically soft, bite-size morsels called bruttles. Made from a secret family recipe, the peanut butter- or cashew-flavored confections taste like little bits of heaven (think brittle, but soft). The same goes for its super-soft brittle (not to be confused with the aforementioned bruttle) and the shop’s traditional rock-hard version.

Or forgo the bruttle-versus-brittle debate altogether and try the scrumptious caramallows, delicious almond-filled butter toffee, or incredible chocolate caramel squares. Each small town sweet will convince you that businesses don’t need a big ad campaign to make a splash.

Or prove that they’re finger lickin’ good.
