What a Gas

USA Grown Fuel

Your stomach is in knots, and you’ve got cramps. You’d blame it on lunch, but you passed on the three-bean salad and cabbage slaw.

It’s not the gas inside you that’s a pain; it’s the gas at the pump.

For those who drive a diesel, relief has arrived: USA Grown Fuel has opened two B99 biodiesel stations in our auto-obsessed town.

Located inside the Palisades Gas-N-Wash are a pair of full-service pumps. If you miss the 5:55 p.m. closing time or if it happens to be raining (when they aren’t open at all), cruise down to USA Gasoline in Marina Del Rey, which is open around the clock and charges twenty cents less for B99.

And contrary to popular misbelief, diesel engines don’t need any type of major conversion, you just have to make sure the engine’s filters are in good shape. Once that’s done, register with the SoCal Biodiesel Users Group (it’s free: sustainableoptions.com) drive in, and fuel up.

That should get your diesel motor running.

USA Grown Fuel at Gas-N-Wash, 890 Alma Real Drive, between Sunset Boulevard and La Cruz, Pacific Palisades; USA Gasoline, 4395 Glencoe Avenue, between Maxella Avenue and Mindanoa Way, Marina Del Rey. For more information, call 805-214-9200 ext. 215 or e-mail info@usagrownfuel.com.
