What a Cut Up

Arzu Firuz Vinyl Rugs

Your idea of cutting a rug? Take one pair of trusty pumps, a J.T. remix, and let ’er rip. (Multiple Jell-O shots optional.)

But laser beams and faux bois parquet? Only if you’re textile designer Arzu Firuz. Based in France, the fresh-faced Duperré grad takes cues from her Turkish roots to give boring old vinyl a serious style boost.

Designed for Polystyl, the floor coverings — in shades of birch, pine, cherry, and walnut — look delicate but but are super durable and easy to clean. Throw down the rectangular Eden in the kitchen or the Babylone runner in a high traffic hallway. And with three sizes of circular Rosace (each more intricate than the next), you’re sure to find a spot for the round rugs.

Like right in the middle of your dance floor.

Available at Suzan Fellman, 678 South Cloverdale Avenue, between Wilshire Boulevard and West Sixth Street, Miracle Mile (323-936-7759); online at vivre.com. To see styles, go to
