The best part about losing your V-card after your Polynesian-themed prom? You were no longer eligible to be sacrificed to the volcano gods.
Hey, it could have been worse (at least you had punch). Just see Deflowered. The new show spotlights six women’s stories of giving it up, in all their awkward glory.
Created by Abby Kincaid (who at 14 learned how to play guitar to increase her chances of getting laid), the night is comprised of five monologues and one scene, all real tales plucked from a pile of submissions from nonvirgins across the country.
Though it’s sure to be painfully funny, excruciatingly intimate, and, at times, sweet, we can’t promise it’ll be easy, uncomplicated, or even a night you’ll never forget. After all, it is the performance debut.
And, you know, there’s a first time for everything.
Deflowered: Live and Rated R, Wednesday, 8 p.m., at M Bar, 1253 North Vine Street, at Fountain Avenue, Hollywood (323-856-0036). Tickets online at defloweredmemoirs.com.
