8 Oz. Burger Bar Opens

Wh-wh-wh-wh …

Yeeeeessss?

Wh-wh-where’s the … um, the um …

Spit it out. We know you’re dying to ask.

Wh-wh-where’s the beef?

Just couldn’t resist, could you? Neither could we — especially since chef Govind Armstrong’s 8 Oz. Burger Bar opens today.

You’ll barely recognize the old Table 8 space with the new neighborhood hang’s East Coast butcher shop-meets-West Coast brasserie feel.

Start with mini Kobe corn dogs or celery with blue cheese aioli. The main event: the 8 oz. burger, a tri-tip/sirloin/chuck/secret-ingredient patty that’s rested in a 38-degree, Himalayan salt tile-lined locker till it’s ready to hit the wood-burning grill.

Balsamic onions, purple mustard, heirloom tomato ketchup, sweet potato chips, and stout-battered onion rings are some of the house-made sides and condiments. And don’t forget a nice cold beer.

Did we stutter?

8 Oz. Burger Bar, 7661 Melrose Avenue, between North Stanley and North Spaulding Avenues, West Hollywood (323-852-0008 or 8ozburgerbar.com).
