Calling all night owls, nachovores, and imbibers of the agave persuasion: Your Mission, should you choose to accept it, opens this evening in Hollywood.
Head through the wrought iron-framed vestibule, past tall cocktail tables, and into The Mission Cantina, the latest joint to join Bowery and Delancey in George Abou-Daoud’s Sunset Boulevard ranks.
Decked with found paintings and stained glass windows, the dimly lit watering hole serves a homey Mexican menu: house-made chips and salsa, quesadillas, traditional Oaxacan mole, tacos with slow-cooked beef and smoked pork, and churros with chocolate for dessert.
Set up base at the hefty pueblo-style bar for a closer look at the sangrias, draft beers, and impressive collection of tequilas — any of which can be used in signature cocktails like the grapefruit-lavender or strawberry-guava margaritas or jalapeno martinis.
Just be ready to call for backup.
