He said, “Do you?” She said, “I do.” Now what? Altared States coming to a theater near you.
Altared States, the charming new love story, opens with the groom, played by Mr. Right, fumbling through rings until congenial jeweler Jeremiah Spielman (213-746-2700) steers him in the right direction. Right pops the question and the bride (you-know-who) gleefully accepts. What comes next is shocking: Their wedding goes off without a hitch.
Maniacal planners are replaced by even-keeled, unflappable coordinators Rachel Hollis and Erika Kurtz (Chic Events); Armine Ohanessian (R-Mine Bridal Couture) gives the performance of her life as the straight-talking bridal salon owner-turned-couturier; and Richele Silva shines as Richie Designs, a contemporary stationer with impeccable taste.
Aside from Kate Holt as whimsical floral wiz Flowerwild, the ensemble cast includes Patricia Clark as the locavore foodie caterer; baker Precious McCall, a.k.a. SugarJones; and Ariana Lambert Smeraldo (Lily Lodge; 310-360-9400), who’s sought after for her new extra dark chocolate truffle fudge.
As for the real-life romance that unfolded on location at SmogShoppe? The stars, who were caught by photographer Stephanie Williams sneaking away from the premiere in a ’61 Alfa Romeo Giulietta, could not be reached for comment. Representatives have confirmed that the pair is shacked up at Panama’s Punta Caracol Acqua Lodge.
What a production. We give it two thumbs up.
