Mohawk General Store Opens

As Dorothy discovered when she clicked the heels of those ruby slippers, a pair of good shoes can take you places.

And where better to find some — Oz notwithstanding — than the new Mohawk General Store.

Created by husband-and-wife team Bo and Kevin Carney, the shop is a meticulously curated selection of handcrafted, quality footwear from independent designers and more established brands.

For women, that means lovely labels such as Slow and Steady Wins the Race, Repetto, and Rachel Comey. For men, there’s Kevin Carney’s own line of dashing footwear, The Generic Man.

As an added bonus, the store also carries select clothing and accessories intended to complement the kicks. You’ll delight in the Krista earrings, fashioned from recycled fur and metals, and fall for Daniel Desure’s LED light installation.

Because of the wonderful things it does.
