Pantry Raid

The Larchmont Larder Opens

Main Entry: homemade
Pronunciation: \hō(m)-mād\

1. made in the home, on the premises, or by one’s own efforts*.

*And by efforts, you mean picking up almost-ready fare from The Larchmont Larder and finishing the cooking in your kitchen, right?

Hey, it’s not like it’s easy. Deciding what to take to go from the new prepared food store and cafe takes work. There are the braised boneless short ribs or Moroccan chicken tagine, the oven-dried tomatoes or Roman-style baby artichokes, the marinated mixed olives or the homemade bread and butter pickles.

When laboring over the spice rubs and stocks gets to be too much, take five at a table inside the craftsman digs and mull things over with a cup of soup or freshly baked cookie.

It’s comfort food.

By definition.

The Larchmont Larder, 626 North Larchmont Boulevard, between Melrose Avenue and Clinton Street (323-962-9900 or
