Trading has just opened on the floor at new CCDVC (Curate Couture Designer and Vintage Consignment).
Buy! Buy! Buy!
Labels are up, prices are down, and everything is in first-rate condition. Beachy Calypso and Tibi dresses; Prada, Bottega Veneta, and Louis Vuitton cocktail frocks; and the likes of Marni, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Thierry Mugler, and Chloé are all on the ticker. Clothing, jewelry, and accessories are predicted to move anywhere from $35 to $1,500.
Sell! Sell! Sell!
Owner Karuna Tillmon James has an eye for eveningwear; goods from the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s; and contemporary pieces that just get it right. Consigners take home half of the sticker price; the other half (and a nominal case-by-case fee for dry cleaning, tailoring, etc.) goes to James. Anyone can sell: Designers, stylists, showrooms, and collectors are already in on the action.
And that’s something you can take stock in.
