Blue Plate Oysterette Restaurant Opens

You’ve been a bit clammy, barely motivated to move a mussel.

Well, here’s a reminder that the world is your oyster: BP Oysterette, the new seafood spin-off from Blue Plate in Santa Monica, is now open.

Though inspired by East Coast roadside snack shacks (crisp blue and white nauticals, glass fishing globes), the eatery gets its swanky modern Cal twist from touches like bark wallpaper, metallic accents, and oddball objects that look like they washed up from the Pacific.

Sit under the awning out front gobbling the raw bar’s evo crudo with smoked sea salt and grilled crostini or oysters on the half. Kick back inside with a bucket of steamers or a lobster roll with a cold draught beer. And there are always fish tacos (this is L.A., after all).

We thought that might get you to show us those pearly whites.
