No confetti. No noisemakers. No plan B. Getting stuck on New Year’s Eve? No fun.
Unless you’re at The Tar Pit.
The first gorgeous venture from Mark Peel (Campanile) and Audrey Saunders (Pegu Club), the plush supper club is your new destination for executed cocktails and turned-out American fare that takes cues from the Golden Age.
Ring in the New Year the old Hollywood way with oysters, clams casino, shrimp Louis, and steak Diane along with sips like the Palm Frond (lemon myrtle-infused gin, green Chartreuse, muddled mint, and simple syrup), Jamaican Firefly (dark rum, house-made ginger beer, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup), or Lil Jig (silver tequila, yellow Chartreuse, Thai basil, and simple syrup).
You might want to stick around.
The Tar Pit, 609 North La Brea Avenue, between Melrose Avenue and Clinton Street, La Brea Corridor (323-965-1300 or tarpitbar.com). Reservations a must for New Year’s Eve seatings, 6:30 and 9:30.
