Red O Restaurant Opens
What: Champion of authentic Mex cuisine Rick Bayless (and, ahem, Top Chef Master) puts up big flavors (pork belly sopes with black beans, salsa negra, and sesame; goat cheese cheesecake with caramel corn and Mexican root beer sauce) in his first menu outside of Chicago. Fourteen-foot chandeliers and a glass tequila tunnel add pizzazz.
Why: They are holding two tables a night for DailyCandy readers during opening weekend. Drop the DC name when you call to claim a reservation.

Elixer Spray Oils
What: Created by hair guru/stylist Afshin Ammadi, these wonder oils keep hair fresh and fragrant. Whether you leave in for scent or blow-dry for shine, moisture abounds.
Why: Use in lieu of shampoo pre- and postbeach, and come out smelling like a rose. Peppermint and orange scents also tickle the nose.

What: Nab commodities from North Africa with Laurence Touitou’s (Jean’s sis) new capsule collection of traditional Tunisian wares (sold exclusively at A.P.C.) inspired by her childhood there.
Why: Perfect straw hats and printed scarves with labels that detail which village, craftsman, tool, and fabrics led to its creation.

Annenberg Community Beach House Pool
