In every dancer’s life comes a time for a (kick, ball) change.
For choreographer Ryan Heffington, the spark behind the explosive Sweaty Sundays dance class phenomenon, it came when his weekly session with a 56-person capacity began consistently maxing out 45 minutes before the noon start time.
Hence The Sweat Spot, a new 2,000-square-foot space to call his own — just one block away from the original Silver Lake locale.
In addition to four music- and spandex-charged, multilevel Sweaty classes a week (Wet Wednesdays and Fit Fridays included), advanced contemporary jazz, and the particularly unintimidating Intro to Sweaty, Heffington’s expanded schedule touts teachers and instruction in line with his all-positive, all-welcoming, fit-via-fun ethos: rock ’n’ roll ballet, Jazzycize, Tap That Ass, A Little Bit Country, Groov3 hip-hop, as well as Kreative Kids.
Novice or pro, all classes are ten bucks cash. Applause is free.
