First came the pocket protector. Then fanny packs, cell phone holsters, and, finally, pharmaceutical rep-chic rolling computer bags.
Except for the occasional ironic nod (see: the Cap-sac), toting technology has never been that attractive, which is why designer Jeet Sohal has added new form- and function-happy iPad clutches to Bare Collection.
Known for her simple, sophisticated mix of luxury and utility (she’s even made belt-bags look good), the Hancock Park native turned her classic fold-over clutch (which already had a PDA pocket) into The Basic by adding a removable chain strap and discreet snap, then resizing it in her signature buttery black, cognac, crimson red, and dark gray Italian leather. The Bells & Whistles version (shown) has two storage locations, an adjustable stand with three angle options, gold-tone or antique hardware, two penholders, and a cross-body chain. Its note stash nods to old-school folios, because — sorry — there’s no app for that.
Available online at barecollection.com, $288-$391.
