What: Visual artist Deedee Cheriel shows a new collection of acrylic-on-wood and -paper paintings influenced by punk rock, East Indian temple imagery, and her upbringing in the Pacific Northwest.
Why: Commentary on her real-life L.A. social circle told with bears, bird-headed women, and folk art tribal patterns.

Why: Crudo a-go-go. Think ostriche (oysters on the half shell with Chianti mignonette), capesante (sea scallops with pomegranate, anise, and hazelnut), and Thai snapper (wasabi, yuzu, and green apple).
