You’ve been hearing a lot of these little words lately: Olive you. Olive you, too.
It has nothing to do with Valentine’s Day and everything to do with Olive & Thyme, the new gourmet marketplace and cafe just opened on a quaint corner in Toluca Lake.
Purveyors of all things gourmet (house-made salts, from-scratch condiments, the finest cheeses from around the world), hubby-and-wife team Christian and Melina Davies serve breakfast and lunch and cater, too.
Sip brewed-by-the-cup Intelligentsia and share Valerie Confections baked goods (creme fraiche scone or milk chocolate croissant, anyone?) along the white marble bar top. Nosh on salads and open-faced sammies (grilled Middle Eastern chicken pita with hummus, harissa, and aji sauce) at sunny sidewalk seats.
When the sun sets — or while you’re waiting for your foodie gift basket to be wrapped — partake in the beer and wine curated by Covell’s Matthew Kaner.
Olive everything about it.
Olive & Thyme, 4013 Riverside Drive, at North Pass Avenue, Toluca Lake (818-557-1560 or oliveandthyme.com).
