Tutu fever is in full swing at your house: The amount of twirling is enough to make even Baryshnikov need a time out.
Teach your tiny dancer some new skills at the Twinkle Toes Dance Company, offering hip-hop, creative movement, and ballet classes for movers as young as 18 months. By mixing proper technique with energetic music and imaginative props, former dancer (and current mom) Karen Hayes teaches kiddos to plié, jéte, and relevé their way to a lifelong love of dance.
Hayes even scraps ho-hum recitals in favor of original kiddie ballets with music by local composers. Next up: a ballet version of the classic book The Rainbow Fish.
Now that’s something to twist and shout about.
Twinkle Toes Dance Company, 5577 North Figueroa Street, at North Avenue 56 (818-395-3454 or twinkletoesdancela.com), $120 per eight-week session.
