Flipping the Flop
Sigerson Morrison's Jazzed-Up Flip Flops

The flip-flop: Utilitarian. Ubiquitous. Comfortable.
Perfect, in other words. Why mess with that?
Because it’s fashion, dammit. This is what fashion does.
And, sometimes, to pretty decent ends. Take Sigerson Morrison’s new twist on the classic. They took a basic, seemingly unassuming rubber thong and added a va-va-voom silhouette and a sweet kitten heel. They whipped ’em up in a spectrum of primary colors, as well as basic black and brown. (They also jacked up the price to the heavens, but — really — who’s surprised?)
Those who already wear flip-flops incessantly will no longer have to feel like the bum at the table with no reason to wear grown-up shoes. (Heels are very “proper nice lady.”) Those who hate to go anywhere without a few extra inches can show up at the pool and the beach without looking like they’re trying too hard.
After all, they’re only flip-flops, right?
Available online at vivre.com and at Sigerson Morrison stores soon.
