Hitting the Marque

Susan Marque Food Coach

food coach!

Here’s the thing about the human body: It is designed to process this stuff called “food.”

Not meal-replacement shakes. Not a regular intake of nothing but Diet Coke and Tic Tacs. Which may be why your last few attempts at losing weight haven’t quite worked out.

This time around, instead of jumping on the coconut-oil bandwagon, place a call to Susan Marque, a food coach with an innovative strategy. Although she employs principles borrowed from macrobiotics and veganism, she doesn’t strictly follow any one dogmatic school of thought. Her focus is on the “energetics of food” — what fuels your body and leaves you feeling full but not stuffed. She keeps people on task by getting them “addicted to feeling good” with foods that are naturally satisfying.

This is no sprouts-and-granola scheme. Based on moderation and common sense, Marque’s plan concentrates on individual tastes and preferences. She believes that the only eating plan that will stick is one that’s fast, easy, and feels right. Which doesn’t mean a steady diet of chocolate éclairs. But it does mean plenty of variety and foods you like.

Beats guzzling three shots of wheatgrass juice a day.
