Give Us This Day Our Daily Grind
Venice Grind Coffee Opens

If the City of Angeles had a patron saint, it would be Our Lady of All the Lights Turn Green at the Same Time.
After Wilshire, her most wondrous work is done on Venice between the beach and the 405. And though those shady thrift shops never tempted you to stop, the new coffee spot Venice Grind will.
This is where the neighborhood comes together over a cup of black gold (South American organic blends reign supreme) and a broad selection of teas. You’ll find strong brew, a smiley staff, free Wi-Fi, and comfy seating. Fresh pastries from local bakeries are delivered every morning, and the walls are covered in artwork from Westside talents.
The scene is set for this to become a cornerstone in a neighborhood that you wouldn’t normally think of as emerging but has loads of promise (there’s a new Oaxacan taco place and a cool ladies’ surf shop) and lots under construction.
Pretty soon, Venice Grind will be full, and the sun-drenched back patio will be busy.
You may want to say a little prayer to Saint Super Parking Spot now.
Venice Grind, 12224 Venice Boulevard, at Grand View Boulevard, Mar Vista (310-397-2227).
