Out with the Old, in with the Old

The Junk Market

junk market!

If only you had a shiny nickel for every time someone told you, “The key to great design is pairing designer furniture with kitschy flea market finds.”

The thing is, you don’t. Which is one reason you’ll want to check out The Junk Market.

Uncluttered and affordable, the charming shop carries an exquisite collection of vintage pieces — a picnic-style dining room table, art deco fixtures, distressed white bookshelves, 1920s wooden tennis rackets, and piles of French linens.

The Junk Market offers another great perk: not having to think about which third Sunday is special swap meet Sunday (though it is closed on Wednesdays). And you won’t have to take out a second mortgage just to afford a little interior decorating expertise. Owners Nick and Carri Dillon love to help shoppers mix things up, whether the budget is big or small.

Until those nickels start pouring in.

The Junk Market, 6408 Selma Avenue, between Cahuenga Boulevard and Wilcox Avenue, Hollywood (323-461-6747).
