Shag-a-Delic, Baby
Shag Now Open

When you’re cold, gray, and have been partying nonstop for the past three years, it’s wise to take a break.
Turns out a little rest, rejuvenation, and reinvention were all the former Concorde needed to reemerge as Shag, a fresh-faced new boite that’s more than ready to brave the scene.
Aside from the moat out front, you’ll barely recognize it. The once minimal space has gone modern glam with a 600-pound Venetian glass chandelier, Swarovski crystal fixtures, white lacquered table tops, Missoni-upholstered seats, and a posh smoking area with three fifteen-foot vintage pink mirrors.
Its new looks and owner’s track record (Shereen Arazm has Concorde, El Centro, and Geisha House to her cred) will attract A-listers Thursday-Saturday and Monday, but anyone’s got a shot at getting in if they’re gussied up. Calling to get on the guest list will improve your chances, but there’s no guarantee unless you reserve a table and pay for bottle service.
Which might be a fun way to break the place in.
And definitely a way to break the bank.
Shag, 1835 North Cahuenga Boulevard, at Franklin Avenue, Hollywood (323-465-4400).
