The Joint Fitness

work it out!

Clubs have never been your thing. Sure, you liked the idea of Scout merit badges and all, but the rules, regulations, and code language seemed more KGB than F-U-N.

Appreciate, then, that you don’t have to be a card-carrying member to hit L.A.’s newest gym, The Joint. You simply pay to play per class.

Situated on the ground floor of the Hillview building in Hollywood, the center offers yoga, core Pilates, and power stretch (ballet and Muay Thai boxing coming soon), as well as private training in a state-of-the-art weight room.

There’s also a climate-controlled spinning room with a bumping sound system. Don’t miss Andrea LaWent’s spin classes: Roaring rock music and her motivational MC style will leave you drenched with sweat — and happier for it.

In January, The Joint will introduce a new schedule, plus a health and beauty concierge service.

Looks like nonmembership has its privileges, too.

The Joint, 6531 Hollywood Boulevard, at Hudson Street, Hollywood (323-871-1504 or thejointfitness.com).
