Boy, Oh, Boy

Boy by Band of Outsiders

what up, homeboy!

The smell of freshly sharpened pencils and rrrrrrip of Trapper Keeper Velcro in the air can mean only one thing (no, it’s not time to smoke a ciggie behind the dumpster): back to school.

Leave it to Boy, the kid sister to Scott Sternberg’s line of prep rock threads for gents Band of Outsiders, to arrive with honors.

Among the perfectly shrunken pieces are a red and blue cashmere rugby, a banker-smart gray wool vest, and a navy flannel blazer (an A+ essential this season). Slim-cut button-downs in over-dyed oxford cloth or striped silk wear well with the classically fit trousers (or seek out your own pair of Dazed and Confused jeans).

Opening Ceremony has almost every piece from the collection — including hand-tailored pieces like the chicly snug wool Melton pea coat with gold buttons.

Talk about extra credit.

Available at Opening Ceremony, 451 North La Cienega Boulevard, between Rosewood and Oakwood Avenues, West Hollywood (310-652-1120). To see styles, go to
