Verdugo Bar Opens

You’ve twisted stomach cramps into tapeworms, blemishes into flesh eating bacteria, and sniffles into Bird Flu — all just to avoid going out.

So don’t be alarmed when we say you’ll soon be overcome by Verdugo.

We mean Verdugo, a new bar in Glassell Park. A watering hole since way back in the 1930s, the cozy but uncramped spot features original art deco appointments, vaulted ceilings, and welcoming atmo that even you can’t refuse. At the wavy bar stretching the length of the front room, barkeeps serve up select beer specialties like Belgium’s Delirium Tremens and Fuller’s London Pride, and word on the street is several exotic shots are in development.

Added bonuses: a back lounge with plush seating galore and enough space to dance, a big outdoor patio, and a revolving menu including snacks from a gourmet hot dog stand.
