Pushing Daisies at the Cemetery

Dedicated E-mail: ABC’s “Pushing Daisies”

Pushing Daisies

They say dead men tell no tales.

But what if they could? You can bet the first thing they’d want to talk about is how they died.

Catch a special screening of the premiere episode of Pushing Daisiestonight at 8 p.m. at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery (fitting location, eh?). Creators Bryan Fuller (Heroes) and Barry Sonnenfeld (Men in Black) will both be there, along with cast members.

Pushing Daisies is the highly anticipated new drama from ABC about a young man named Ned (Lee Pace), who can bring the dead back to life with one touch. But with a second touch, that person will be gone forever.

By day, Ned is a simple pie maker. But in his spare time, he helps solve murder cases by reviving victims and asking about their killers in order to collect the reward.

Happily ever after? Not quite. (It is, after all, a show about life, death, and life again.) In one murder case, Ned revives his long-lost childhood sweetheart, Chuck (Anna Friel). And while Ned’s first touch reunites him with Chuck, a second would send her away from him forever — so hand-holding is out (to say nothing of happy endings).

Be among the first to catch this unusual new series before it premieres Wednesday, October 3 at 8/7c on ABC.

After all, the course of undead love never did run smooth.

Screening, Thursday, August 16, 8 p.m., Hollywood Forever Cemetery, 6000 Santa Monica Boulevard, Hollywood. For more information, go to abc.com.
