Congratulations! (LeVar would be proud.) You’ve got what it takes to join Nobody Reads in L.A., the book club where you need not be highfalutin literati, but being literate’s a must.

Sticking strictly to novels that spawned important movies of our time, roving readers meet monthly at bars on both the east and west sides.

Titles on the current schedule include American Psycho, The Maltese Falcon, and Lolita, but the word party gets starts with Barry Gifford’s Wild at Heart (cue the Chris Isaak). There are three weeks and 160 pages between you and the inaugural event, during which you’ll discuss, drink, and decide on whether to mark your calendar for the not-much-later date, when NRILA will screen the film and host a Q&A (and maybe an intimate dinner) with the author.

It’s like having a pot of shiny gold at the end of your reading rainbow.
