The Mother Load

Letting mommy dearest clothe you has always led to disaster. (Indeed, those holiday sweaters scarred, but the matchy-matchy sailor suits were arguably worse for the family dachshund. Poor Dottie.)

But you’ll happily surrender to parental control when it comes to the new collection from mother-daughter team Chris and Jaime Lo. Their eponymous line makes dolling up every day easy.

Throw on a boxy Bambi top for its multipleated woven cotton with silk linen details or Jessie jumper with tiny buttons and straps crisscrossed in back. And just try to play favorites when it comes to dresses like Pinwheel, a cream, navy, or slate cotton twill A-line with a pleated collar, and Audrey, a Hepburnish classic in navy or beige cotton dobby with an empire waist and simple contrast band at the hem.

Looks like mom’s the word.
