Hot Diggity Dog
Marty D’s Opens

Once upon a time (July 4, 1976, to be specific), New York transplants Marty and Sandy Davidson broke out the Weber and invited pals over for their first barbecue. Guests left that day and each year after dreaming of a world in which they could celebrate Marty’s Wiener Day every day.
Now they can. Marty D’s has opened a hot dog and dessert spot on South Beverly Drive.
Inside the sunny tribute to the old-fashioned Brooklyn luncheonette, sit at the counter or a glossy red two-top and get ready to grub.
Cookies and cakes are custom baked, ice cream comes from Dandy Don’s, and syrups and sundae toppings are made in-house. Mr. D uses only buns from a recipe he helped perfect, chicken sausages from a top-secret local vendor, and kosher dogs of his exclusive design made back East.
And just how do you spot the real thing?
As they say: “If it ain’t eight inches, it ain’t Marty D’s.”
