Joy Division

Christian Joy Collection

short circuit!

You’ve never been one to hop for glee, skip for delight, or bounce out of pure bliss.

But you’ll certainly jump for Joy. Just wait until you get a load of the Christian Joy spring debut.

Known best as designer of Karen O.’s raucous ensembles, Christiane Joy Hultquist has a decidedly, wildly wearable first full collection.

Classics like the cap sleeve or T-shirt dress and simple tank silhouettes are updated with bold graphics or strategically placed zippers and seams, while altogether new staples have been created with the zip-front leotard, elastic-waist bubble short, and kimono cardigan with shoulder cut-outs.

And since the color palette’s so simple — black, white, or both, with a rare red accent — the fresh shapes come off surprisingly sensible and easy to wear.

Obviously someone’s keeping their feet on the ground.

Available at Milk, 8209 West Third Street, between Harper and La Jolla Avenues (323-951-0330 or
