To wit: Rose, the debut clothing line from Hollywood stylists Britt Bardo and Jewels Steger, is as far from prickly as can be.

A little Riviera, a little edgy everyday, each piece is perfectly basic, specialed up with a surprising little detail (no, not a barb). Take a closer look at the semisheer tuxedo top to find a rose watercolor print on the pin-tucked bib. Turn around to find the simple scoop-neck tees are backed with chiffon. Reach in the pocket of the tiny-pleated trousers or mother of pearl-buttoned baby bloomer shorts to find custom lining fabric inspired by vintage art pieces.

Drapey silks cut low and loose make for an effortlessly good-looking collection.

Certainly it’s something to believe in.
