NYSE guys finish last. (Lately, anyway).

So maybe it really is time to join the nice ones — like those at Trade a Favor, a service that allows users to exchange services and goods without the use of that highly unreliable currency known as money.

The Facebook app is a totally different sort of trading floor. You offer a talent or product and see if someone with a corresponding need can provide something you want in return. Swap hugs for holiday decorating tips, decluttering guidance for ghost-busting skills, hors d’oeuvre recipes for Krav Maga instruction, hand-loomed potholders for prepaid phone cards. Who knows? You may even make a new friend or two. No matter what, it’s a win-win situation.

Because as it says on the website, life is more than cash.
