The husband and wife team (founder and creative director of Camden’s Proud Galleries, the biggest private photo venue in Europe) will open Proud Cabaret tomorrow in the heart of the city. It’s a restaurant (serving British fare), cabaret club and live music spot — and a noteable step away from photography.
The decadent basement space feels like a 1920s speakeasy filled with plush booths, velvet curtains and a mirrored VIP area. Regular entertainment will include jazz, burlesque and a DJ until 3:30 a.m. A diverse selection of hosts will plan interactive performances and supper club evenings.
Talk about doing something different.
