Frat Party
Miami
May 28, 2008

Hear ye, hear ye. Michael’s, pipe down. Brosia, quiet please. The assembly of Design District restaurants is called to order.

First item on the agenda: taking over Miami’s culinary scene. The newest development is the opening of Fratelli Lyon.

Secretary of the Palate approved the regional, Italian menu (heirloom legumes from Umbrian farmers, artisan goat’s milk cheeses from Piedmont, hand-bottled olive oils). He recommends the saffron risotto with osso bucco; house-made ravioli with herbed ricotta and brown butter; and Venetian-style sole with pickled onions, pinenuts, and raisins. Also: sides of fava puree and Swiss chard, or asparagus gratin.

Secretary of the Interior notes the eatery occupies the entrance to Driade’s showroom. The modern Italian furniture company collaborated on the glassware, flatware, furnishings, and accessories.

Lastly, Secretary of the Grapevine praises the exclusive Italian wine list and the sodas, which are made in house with fresh fruits and purees.

You may now raise your goblets.

Fratelli Lyon, 4141 Northeast Second Avenue (305-572-2901).
