What the Peck?
San Francisco
November 09, 2009

The night in a Mexican jail. The call from the IRS. Waking up and not being able to find your pants.

You’ve gotten yourself into some pickles.

So don’t be a stranger to Pick-a-Peck Pickles. Created by the Brubaker family (a mom, dad, and four brothers), the zesty delicacies are hand packed with natural, often locally sourced ingredients in a Yuba City cannery kitchen.

If you like spice, stock your cupboards with Bean Me Up, Scotty (crunchy, hot pickled green beans infused with four types of peppers). Not-too-sweet Just Beet It pickled salad beets with dashes of cinnamon and cloves are the ultimate tangy treat.

The pickles are delicious on sandwiches or when you want a little teatime snack.

Without getting into a jam.

Available at Blue Fog Market, 2567 Gough Street, at Green Street (415-931-9331); 2794 California Street, at Divisadero Street (415-931-9035 or bluefogmarket.com); Falletti Foods, 308 Broderick Street, at Fell Street (415-626-4400 or fallettifoods.com); online at pickapeckpickles.com.
